Mangal Dhun

Mangal dhun is one of the most popular tune originated on the 17th century from an old newari bhajan song named “Dhanya Dhari lokeswara”. Is very melodious and extremely soothing tune capable of conveying so many emotions related to tragedy, grief, lost love, new-found love, celebratory spirit of humankind, and the inherent harmony of nature in an ideal world; and is mostly played during: Wedding ceremony, and so many other festivals like Dashain, Tihar etc. This tune has the greatest presence in the Kathmandu Valley.
